On January 24, global consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble (PG) said to the public that in the second fiscal quarter ending December 2023, sales of high-end skincare brand SK-II in the Greater China region declined by 34%, mainly due to the impact of nuclear effluent discharges in Japan.

Chinese consumers are no longer favoring Japanese brands, including Procter & Gamble SK-II, due to fears of nuclear radiation contamination. Companies such as P&G have issued statements that their products are safe to use in an attempt to alleviate consumer concerns.

SK-II official public number previously introduced, SK-II "fairy water" factory and production line are located in Japan's largest lake Biwako lake, but also the brand's products are the only source of water quality, the world and no other production channels.
